Civly for Revit
===============

What you need
  - Windows with Revit 2024, 2025, 2026 or 2027
  - The licence key Civly sent you
  - An AI app that can add a custom connector (for example Claude)

Install
  1. Unzip this whole folder somewhere, for example your Desktop.
  2. Close Revit.
  3. Double-click "Install Civly".
It installs for every supported Revit version on this PC, for your
Windows user only. It does not need administrator rights.

Connect Revit
  4. Open Revit. If it asks about the Civly add-in, choose "Always Load".
  5. Civly tab > Settings > Civly Cloud.
Paste your licence key and press Save.
The status line reads "Linked as <your email>" when it is connected.
Your key works on the first PC that connects with it. To move to
another PC, ask Civly for a new key.

Connect your AI app
  6. Add a custom connector with the address in your welcome email,
choose "No sign-in", and add one request header:
        Name: Authorization
        Value: Bearer <your licence key>
  7. Open a model in Revit and ask your AI app about it.

If something is wrong
  - "Revit isn't connected to Civly": Revit is closed, or the status line
on the Civly Cloud page does not say "Linked". Check the key.
  - "This licence key is registered to <another PC>": the key was first
used on a different computer. Ask Civly for a new key.
  - The installer says Revit is open: close every Revit window and run it
    again.

Remove
Delete the folder "revit_mcp_plugin" and the file
  "mcp-servers-for-revit.addin" from
  %APPDATA%\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\<year>

Your data
Civly's server receives the requests your AI app makes and the answers
Revit gives. Your Revit model file is never uploaded. If you agreed to
share usage data for the trial, the status line says so, and Civly keeps
the content of those requests and answers to improve the product. Ask
Civly at any time to switch this off or delete what it holds.
